Senior Management
Randy Ringold - CEO & Founder Mr. Ringold has over 23 years in in-vitro diagnostic products designed for central laboratories and point-of-care applications. He has extensive knowledge and expertise in diagnostic sales, marketing (both direct and through distribution), customer service and support within the global markets.
Prior to forming VDxI, Mr. Ringold was Worldwide Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Quest Diagnostics, Nichols Institute. Rebuilding the sales, marketing, and distribution channels worldwide, he more than doubled the company's revenues. Returning to the original vision of Dr. Albert Nichols, Nichols Institute forged alliances with leading academics, developed innovative diagnostic assays, and changed physician practices and medical guidelines in specialty diagnostics such as nephrology, cardiology, thyroid disease, and veterinary medicine.
Mr. Ringold started his career as a Medical Technologist at UCLA Medical Center Laboratory, where he was responsible for developing new diagnostic procedures and training pathology residents.
His start-up experience began early in his career when he joined International Remote Imaging Systems, Over the years, Mr. Ringold has held a variety of senior management positions in sales and marketing with Baxter International's IVD divisions of Dade, MicroScan, Scientific Products, and Paramax.
In 1993 Mr. Ringold was recruited to build the US marketing and sales team for Sysmex, a major supplier of hematology and robotic equipment. As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Sysmex-USA won the 1994 CLMA and 1996 BMA MarCom award, and led the market in high-end robotic automation.
Mr. Ringold has a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry, is a licensed Medical Technologist, and obtained his Masters in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge.

Steven R. Ness, DO - President and COO, Co-Founder Dr. Ness is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. He practiced as a physician in the Navy for 8 years providing routine and emergency medical care for U.S. military personnel with duty stations at Balboa Naval Hospital (San Diego, CA), Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base (Camp Pendleton, CA), and Miramar Marine Corps Air Station (Miramar, CA). While stationed at Camp Pendleton he was the head physician (Regimental Surgeon) for the 11th Marine Regiment responsible for all aspects of medical care and deployment readiness for the more than 3,000 Marines and Sailors in the Regiment. He concluded his military career as a Lieutenant Commander (USNR) with a tour of duty in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom while assigned to the 1st Marine Division.
From 2000 to 2002 Dr. Ness was the Medical Affairs Manager for Quidel Corporation in San Diego, CA. He successfully launched the first rapid, point of care diagnostic test for influenza empowering physicians to both test and treat for the flu at the point of care. Dr. Ness made appearances on NBC, CBS, and Fox News outlining the clinical utility of point of care influenza testing and contributed medical content on the subject of influenza testing to WebMD and Investors Business Daily.
Prior to co-founding VDxI, Dr. Ness was the Director of Marketing at Quest Diagnostics, Nichols Institute from 2002 to 2006. While in this capacity he was accountable for the entire Nichols' portfolio of specialty immunoassays. Nichols is world-renown for their high quality assays and ability to develop innovative diagnostic tools improving the way in which physicians manage patients. Also in this role he specifically managed a hyperglycosylated variant of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) called H-hCG. Dr. Ness guided this innovative assay through clinical trials and FDA regulatory approval and launched the market's 1st and only second trimester penta screen and the 1st and only first trimester screen utilizing H-hCG for Down Syndrome screening.
Dr. Ness has a BS in Biology from Norwich University, Military College of Vermont and earned his medical degree from the University of New England in Biddeford, ME. He completed his medical internship at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA.

Mary Pohlman - National Sales Director Ms. Mary Pohlman has over 25 years of clinical diagnostic experience including diagnostic equipment sales, sales management, hospital administration and clinical laboratory operations. Ms. Pohlman started her career as a Medical Technologist (MT) at St. Michaels Hospital in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. During her career as an MT she held various positions from Clinical Microbiology Instructor to Laboratory Administrative Director to VP of Diagnostic Services.
Prior to joining VDxI, Ms Pohlman was Eastern Region Sales Manager for Quest Diagnostics, Nichols Institute. She was responsible for leading a sales team focused on esoteric, specialty clinical laboratory tests. During her tenure at Nichols Institute she consistently increased sales in her region more than 18% year over year.
Ms. Pohlman earned her Bachelors of Science (BS) in Medical Technology from the University of Wisconsin. She completed her coursework for a Masters in Hospital Administration from Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee. Mary is licensed by the ASCP as a Medical Technologist and a Microbiology Specialist.

Rene'e Parker - Strategic Accounts Director Ms. Rene'e Parker has over 20 years of clinical diagnostic experience including diagnostic equipment sales and national account sales. Ms. Parker started her career as a Staff Accountant at Baxter International Inc. in Deerfield, Illinois. During her career she held various positions from Financial Services Manager to Marketing Operations Manager to Product Manager. Ms. Parker also held the position of Client Relations Manager for the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the principal not-for-profit organization which fosters excellence in the practice of pathology and laboratory medicine. Prior to joining VDxI, Ms. Parker was Strategic Business Development Executive for Quest Diagnostics. Ms. Parker earned her Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University, Bloomington and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Loyola University, Chicago.

Steven M. Gauthier - Marketing Director
Steve Gauthier has over 25 years of experience in clinical diagnostics including equipment sales, sales management, marketing, clinical applications and field service. Mr. Gauthier began his career as a field service engineer for Baxter International, Scientific Products division. During his career, he has held various positions such as clinical applications specialist, technical sales representative, robotic systems manager and field sales manager. Prior to joining VDxI, Mr. Gauthier served as Western Region Sales Manager for Quest Diagnostics, Nichols Institute. Mr. Gauthier earned his electrical engineering degree from Waterbury State Technical College in Waterbury, CT.

Lysa A. Stagnato - Personnel and Finance Director
Ms. Lysa Stagnato has over 10 years of medical diagnostics and manufacturing experience. Ms. Stagnato began her career in marketing at Quest Diagnostics, Nichols Institute. At Teva Pharmaceuticals she was accountable for finance and market forecasting within the US market. During her career, she has held various positions such as Contract Analyst, Marketing Analyst, Project and Product Manager and Finance Forecaster. Prior to joining VDxI, Ms. Stagnato was the Manager of Commercial Operations at IntraLase Corporation. Ms. Stagnato earned a Bachelors of Science (BS) in Business Management.
